Configuration Manager
Description:
As a Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the configuration of hardware, software, firmware, licenses and configuration items or other complex systems to ensure they meet organizational requirements and standards. You will play a vital role in ensuring that changes to configurations are properly documented, tracked, and implemented to minimize disruptions and risks.
Additionally, you will be at the forefront:
- Develop and implement configuration management plans that outline the processes and procedures for managing configuration items (CI).
- Identify and document all configuration items within the organization, including software, hardware, documentation, and other assets.
- Establish and maintain version control for all configuration items, ensuring that changes are tracked, documented, and authorized leveraging processes, policy and procedures.
- Ensure documentation is created and updated for all configuration items, including specifications, manuals, and procedures.
- Perform regular audits to verify that configurations align with established baselines and documentation.
- Assist in the use of configuration management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items (e.g. DOORS, Eclipse, Support IT)
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, testing, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of configurations. Maintain the configuration management environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
- Develop version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensure they are followed on all projects.
- Identify and mitigate configuration-related risks and issues that may impact the organization's operations and projects.
- Seek opportunities to improve configuration management processes, tools, and methodologies. Server as an advisor to (or non-voting member of) Government Change Control Board (CCB).
Qualifications:

- Six (6) years' experience as a CM in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited College or University
- Four (4) years of additional Configuration Management experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's, totaling 10 years' experience as a CM.
